President Donald Trump made several endorsements for Republicans running in battleground congressional districts in Florida.
In a series of Truth Social posts, he offered his “complete and total endorsement” to Casey Askar, Mike Beltran, Ryan Elijah, Dan Green, Austin Rogers, Jim Schwartzel, Scott Singer, and Joe Strada.
He said all would “fight tirelessly to Grow our Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Unleash American Energy DOMINANCE, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., Strengthen our Brave Military/Veterans, Keep our Border SECURE, Safeguard our Elections, and Protect our always under siege Second Amendment.”
Notably, two of those endorsements were for candidates who won Primary elections over other candidates Trump had endorsed. Elijah upset incumbent U.S. Rep. Cory Mills for the GOP nomination in Florida’s 7th Congressional District.
“A Highly Respected Former News Anchor, Ryan knows the Wisdom and Courage required to confront the Corrupt Fake News, which seeks to divide and destroy our Great Country,” Trump posted.
“His opponent, Bale Dalton, is a Radical Left Democrat who is opposed to NO TAX ON TIPS, NO TAX ON OVERTIME, and NO TAX ON SOCIAL SECURITY and, if he and the Dumocrats ever got in, all of these things will be terminated.”
Meanwhile, Schwartzel beat out Catalina Lauf in a crowded Republican field in Florida’s 19th Congressional District. Trump issued a late endorsement of Lauf, but Schwartzel came out on top. Trump now said the Fort Myers Republican was a worthy successor for U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds’ open seat
“It is my Great Honor to endorse MAGA Warrior, Jim Schwartzel, who is running to represent the wonderful people of Florida’s 19th Congressional District!” Trump posted. “A very successful Businessman, Civic Leader, and Conservative Activist, Jim has dedicated his life to serving his Community.”
In three races, Trump offered his support to three Republicans challenging Democratic incumbents.
Beltran is challenging U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, a Tampa Democrat, in Florida’s 14th Congressional District.
“A Harvard Law School Graduate, and very successful Lawyer and Businessman, Mike knows the Wisdom and Courage required to uphold our Constitution, and promote LAW AND ORDER. His opponent, Kathy Castor, voted against NO TAX ON TIPS, NO TAX ON OVERTIME, and NO TAX ON SOCIAL SECURITY and, if she and the Dumocrats ever got in, all of these things would be terminated. She wants massive Tax Increases, Open Borders, Men playing in Women’s Sports, and Transgender for Everybody. Kathy Castor is Reckless, Radical, and Dangerous!” Trump posted.
He was similarly enthused about Green over U.S. Rep. Darren Soto, a Democrat representing Florida’s 9th Congressional District.
“A Brave U.S. Navy Veteran, and a former Presidential Appointee in my First Administration, Dan knows the Wisdom and Courage it takes to Ensure LAW AND ORDER, Strongly Support our Great Heroes in Law Enforcement, and Champion our Military and Veterans.” Trump posted, before offering an identical indictment of Soto’s voting record as Castor’s.
The President also said he wants Scott Singer to unseat U.S. Rep. Jared Moskowitz, a Democrat from Parkland in Florida’s 25th Congressional District.
“A Proven Leader, Scott has served his Community as the Highly Respected Mayor of Boca Raton, and as a very successful Businessman, prior to running for Congress,” Singer said.
The other three endorsements in Florida went to Republicans, who won in open seats.
He backed Askar in the battleground Florida’s 25th Congressional District.
“A Brave U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, and now, as a successful Businessman, Casey has a Proven Record of Success — He is a WINNER! His opponent, Pia Dandiya, is a Radical Left Democrat,” Trump posted.
He also posted in support of Austin Rogers, who is running to succeed GOP U.S. Rep. Neal Dunn.
“A lifelong Panama City native, very successful Attorney, Civic Leader, and former General Counsel to GREAT U.S. Senator Rick Scott, Austin has dedicated his life to serving his Community,” Trump wrote. “Austin has an incredible wife, Hala, and three beautiful children.”
And he backed Joe Strada, the GOP nominee running to follow Republican U.S. Rep. Dan Webster into office.
“As a very successful Businessman and Entrepreneur, Joe understands the America First Policies required to Create GREAT Jobs, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Unleash American Energy DOMINANCE, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., and Champion our Nation’s Golden Age,” Trump posted.
The endorsements came days after Gov. Ron DeSantis hosted and endorsed the same slate of Republican Primary winners, plus Sydney Gruters, the already Trump-endorsed GOP nominee in Florida’s 16th Congressional District. Trump has also endorsed every Republican incumbent seeking re-election in Florida’s congressional delegation.
That means he has endorsed the Republican candidate in every District except one, ignoring Te Mayonna Brown, the Republican nominee in deep-blue Florida’s 24th Congressional District.
