Palm Beach County municipalities are hosting free concerts, fireworks displays and a day-long civic celebration on July 4, honoring both Independence Day and America’s 250th anniversary.
Several cities have added new elements to their traditional lineups this year, including a synchronized laser show, a decades-old time capsule opening and an expanded slate of daytime programming.
Here are five free events happening across the county.
Fourth on Flagler runs from 5-10 p.m. along Flagler Drive from Banyan Boulevard to Fern Street on the West Palm Beach Waterfront, centered at 100 N. Clematis St.
Billed by the city as the largest free outdoor Independence Day event in South Florida, the celebration features live entertainment across three stages, a patriotic flag ceremony, a kids’ interactive zone, and food and beverage vendors.
For the first time, the city is adding a Florida Crystals laser show, timed to an 18-minute fireworks display over the Intracoastal Waterway.
Boca Raton’s Fabulous Fourth: Fabulous Finale runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Countess de Hoernle Park, serving as the free highlight of the city’s day-long celebration. While some earlier activities require tickets, the evening event is open to all.
Live music begins at 6:30 p.m., with a second set at 7:30 p.m., before a 20-minute fireworks show ignites over the water at 9:10 p.m.
Attendees can park for free at the Boca Raton Innovation Campus, with shuttles running to the park. Food trucks and vendors will be on hand, but the city reminds visitors that coolers, pets, alcohol, sparklers, and drones are not allowed.
The Fabulous Fourth also includes a free, all-ages Block Party from 1 to 4 p.m. at Sugar Sand Park, with kids’ crafts, yard games, a DJ and food trucks.
Sunset Cove Amphitheater at Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park is also hosting a Fourth of July Fireworks Show and Concert, with gates opening at 5:30 p.m.
The event, organized by Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation and the West Boca Community Council, kicks off with a concert by the Viva Band, offers a kids’ fun zone from 5:30 p.m., and wraps up with fireworks.
Of note, pets are not permitted inside the venue gates.
Delray Beach’s Fourth of July Celebration stretches from 5 to 9:30 p.m. along East Atlantic Avenue, between the Intracoastal Bridge and A1A.
The city notes this family-friendly tradition has spanned more than 50 years. Festivities begin with the opening of a 1976 bicentennial time capsule at 5 p.m., followed by a 60-foot flag-raising at 6 p.m. and a reading of the Declaration of Independence by the Delray Beach Historical Society.
The evening lineup includes food trucks, children’s activities, and live entertainment, highlighted by an Earth, Wind & Fire tribute band. Fireworks cap off the night at 9 p.m.
Boynton Beach is hosting its Red, White & Blue with a Waterfront View celebration at Intercoastal Park, featuring live music and food trucks. The city promises one of the county’s largest fireworks displays, synchronized to music and scheduled for 9:05 p.m.
Parking at the park is reserved for ADA use, with free shuttles available from off-site lots. The city reminds attendees that personal fireworks, grilling, and pets are not allowed.
For those looking to enjoy the outdoors, Palm Beach County is waiving entry fees at several state and national parks from July 3 to 5, including Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge and John D. MacArthur Beach State Park.
