TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Adding to the growing pile of new legislation, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed four more Florida bills into law on Wednesday.
All of these latest bills deal with issues pertaining to areas in South Florida, though there are dozens of other wide-ranging laws that are set to take effect on July 1. You can find the full list here.
In the meantime, all of Wednesday’s new laws are as follows:
HB 4001 — Lee County Commission
House Bill 4001 would require Lee County commissioners to be elected from single-member districts starting in the 2028 general election.
However, this rule must first be approved by voters in the county during a referendum in the 2026 general election.
HB 4011 — Palm Beach Board
House Bill 4011 relates to the Palm Beach County Building Code Advisory Board.
Under this law, any building official for the county who has proper state certification can be appointed to the board.
The law took effect upon being signed.
