A Jamaican man illegally in the United States was arrested in the Florida panhandle last week for sex crimes involving a teenager, according to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.

SheriffTommyFordsaidDamianGulgar,44,ischargedwithunlawfulsexualactivitywithaminorandengaginginsexualintercoursewithoutdisclosingapositiveHIVdiagnosis.
Gulgar,whowasarrestedonJan.29,allegedlyadmittedtobeingHIVpositiveandbeingsexuallyinvolvedwithateenagerduringaninterviewwithlawenforcement.
FordsaidtheofficebecameawareofthecrimewhenitreceivedareportsurroundingthesexualabuseofachildearlierinJanuary.TheteenagevictimwastheninterviewedbytheChildProtectionTeamattheGulfCoastChildren’sAdvocacyCenter,wheretheencounterwithanadultman,lateridentifiedasGulgar,wasdisclosed.
